| My name is Johannes Tapio. I am a 22-year-old Finnish student, and a hobbyist composer and producer of electronic music. | |
 | I found this hobby in 2000, when I came to listen to some demo-scene tracker music and found it amazing... It inspired me to try and create songs of my own with my PC, using free music composing programs such as Impulse Tracker II or Scream Tracker III. In 2003 I left behind the trackers and moved on to a tool called FL Studio (a.k.a Fruity Loops at the time) which I've been using since, along with various VST-synthesizers, sample CD:s etc. You can take a look at my hardware equipment (which isn't that great yet, though... I'm working on it, allright ;) here. |
| It wasn't until the year 2004 that I began to release my songs in the web. The constructive feedback I have been receiving since then has been really helpful, and the friendly words of those who have liked my songs, as well. | |
I listen to - and am influenced by - quite a few different genres of electronic music, as well as rock, metal, reggae, new age, soundtrack... So rather than sticking to one, I like to try out different genres when composing music as well. However, over the years I think I've developed a sort of style of my own: something on the lines of very melodic electronica/chillout with soundtrack influences maybe? :D | |
